The Carter Academy Elementary 5th-Grade Cheer Squad, directed by Ms. Chizer and Mrs. Garcia, is a spirited group of students dedicated to building school pride, teamwork, and confidence. Serving as leaders among their peers, the squad supports schoolwide events and represents Carter Academy in the community. Their mission is to inspire positivity, encourage school spirit, and showcase the talent and energy of our students through performance, cheer, and dance.

From 2023–2025, the squad has proudly performed at a variety of events, including pep rallies to motivate students during the STAAR test, the Carver High School Homecoming Parade, and Carter’s annual programs such as Hispanic Heritage, Winter, and Black History celebrations. They also highlighted their skills at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo for Black Heritage Day and shone at the 2024 Dance Recital. Beyond performing, the squad helps uplift the community through traditions like the 2nd-Grade Bicycle Giveaway, showing that Carter cheerleaders bring more than spirit—they bring heart.
