The Visual Arts program at Carter Academy strives to expose students to a wide breadth of techniques, practices, mediums, cultural influences, and competitions to best shape students’ relationship with the arts as a whole. Students participate in lessons and activities that overlap with elements established in their core classes, especially with reading, writing, and social studies.
Throughout the school year, students receive numerous opportunities for collaborative art experiences, displays showcasing their work, artist visits, and field trips to further broaden their understanding of the practices and curriculum beyond the standard classroom procedures. With regular student involvement in beautification and set design for multiple school performances and programs each year, the artists of Carter Academy play a vital role in shaping the school’s culture.
The Visual Arts program is led by Ms. Graciella Delgado, whose passion and expertise guide students through meaningful artistic exploration. For any questions or concerns about the program, please contact her at [email protected].
