Uniform

Dress Code

Carter Academy is a uniform school.

  • Student should wear red polo shirts with dark blue pants (not jeans) Monday through Friday.
  • A Carter Spirit Shirt and jeans may be worn on Fridays.
  • Remember that your child’s sweaters and jackets MUST be red or navy blue and MUST not have any stripes, designs, letters or pictures on them. All outerwear should be plain red or blue.

Bus/Transportation Changes

Please come in and fill out your permanent car rider and/or daycare information sheets if you have not done so already for this school year.

BusPlease make sure that your car tag is VISIBLE when you arrive to pick up your students. This will help us speed up the dismissal process.

Remember that NO transportation changes will be made after 2:00 pm. We want to make sure that all our students get home safely.

Dismissal
Please make sure that your child’s teacher knows, in writing, how your child is to go home. The teacher
must be made aware of any changes in writing.

When checking students out for early dismissal you must report to the office with proper identification to pick up your child. No child will be dismissed to you from the classroom. In order for us to provide a safe and secure environment for our students, you must be in the office by 2:00 p.m. to pick up your child for early dismissal. After 2:00 p.m. no child will be dismissed unless it is an emergency approved by one of the administrators. A doctor’s appointment is not an emergency. Your child’s grades may be affected if he/she habitually misses the last part of the day, therefore, please do not pick up your child early in
order to avoid our dismissal procedures.

If your child DOES have a doctor’s appointment during the day, he/she will NOT be counted as absent as long as you bring a note from the doctor when you bring your child to school that same day.

In order that you may better plan your time of arrival for dismissal, the following schedule is provided:

3:00 p.m. Car Riders and Day Care
3:05 p.m Bus dismissal begins

Arrival at School

When visiting the campus, you must use the front entrance. All visitors must report to the front office and present proper identification (driver’s license or state ID), every time they visit the building. This procedure, plus our cameras, increases the security and safety of our building.

Please do not send your child to school before
7:00 a.m. as there is no one on duty to supervise the students. Breakfast starts at 7:00 a.m. and ends at
7:45 a.m. Teachers pick up their students at 7:45 a.m. to begin the instructional day.




Teacher Conferences

To conference with your child’s teacher, a time must be arranged with the teacher, as teachers may not conference during instructional time. Our office staff
will be happy to forward your name and phone number to the teacher, who will then call you to set up an appointment.

Lunch Applications

We will be sending home a current year application for free/reduced meals with all our students on Monday, August 24th. If you want to apply for free/reduced meals for this year, you must complete a new application. It is very important that the application be filled out and returned immediately.

Por favor asegúrese que el maestro/a de su hijo/a sepa, por escrito, como se irá su hijo/a a casa. Necesita dejarle saber al maestro/a de su hijo/a cualquier cambio de planes que usted tenga por escrito.

Si es necesario despedir un alumno/a temprano, necesita llegar a la oficina con identificación apropiada para recoger a su hijo/a. Ningún alumno/a será despedido directamente del salón. Para proveer un ambiente más seguro, necesita llegar antes de las 2:00 p.m. Después de las 2:00 p.m., solamente se despedirán emergencias aprobadas por nuestra administración. Una cita de doctor no es emergencia. Las calificaciones de su hijo/a pueden ser afectadas si él/ella habitualmente pierde la última parte de clases, así que por favor no recoja a su hijo/a solamente para evitar los procedimientos de despedida.

Si su hijo/a TIENE cita con el doctor, no se le contará como ausencia si usted trae nota del doctor cuando traiga a su hijo/a ese mismo día.

Incluimos un horario de salida para que usted pueda planear su llegada y no tenga que esperar demasiado en el calor.

Al llegar a la escuela

Cuando visite nuestra escuela, use la entrada del frente para entrar y salir de la escuela. Todos los visitantes deben reportarse al frente y mostrar identificación adecuada (licencia de manejar o tarjeta de identificación) cada vez que visitan a nuestra escuela. Este procedimiento al igual que las cámaras mejora la seguridad de nuestra escuela.

Por favor no mande a su hijo/a a la escuela antes de las 7:00 a.m. porque no hay personal que los vigile. El desayuno se empieza a servir a las 7:00 y termina a las 7:45 a.m. Nuestros maestros/as recogen los alumnos/as a las 7:45 a.m. para comenzar el día de instrucción.


Conferencias con los maestros

Para tener conferencias con el maestro/a de su hijo/a, necesita hacer una cita porque los maestros/as no deben tener conferencias durante tiempo de instrucción. Por favor deje su nombre y número de teléfono en la oficina y se le pasará el mensaje al maestro/a, el cual le llamará a usted para hacer la cita.

Aplicaciones para la comida

Mandaremos aplicaciones nuevas para la comida gratis o de precio reducido con todos nuestros alumnos/as el lunes 24 de agosto. Si usted desea aplicar este año, necesita completar una nueva aplicación. Es muy importante que la aplicación para comida gratis o reducida sea completada y entregada a la escuela lo más pronto posible.
